Free recipe to break stubborn patterns

Let’s cut right to it, beebee. You’ve probably been waiting long enough.

Here it is, the recipe -

… and now what that means and how to do it.

This technique will improve stubborn patterns. First, what kinda patterns are we talking about? Patterns like habits of perception and interpretation. Basically, ways you routinely identify, see, feel, and think.

We’re talking about the patterns responsible for your inner world that are then reflected back to you via the mirror of life.

Sure, it seems like life does life and we do us. But what if there was a more inextricable relationship?

First, before we get set on the end game, let’s remember that while your patterns aren’t yet pristine, you can still choose to practice gazing adoringly upon whatever’s happening within and around you. You can be wise and say cute things like, “It’s so interesting and great to be alive.”

That might sound crazy. But what if you lived with more reverence & amusement, the faster things would improve?

We live in, I’m not actually sure what it is, but it seems very intelligent. We exist as, of, or in a very intelligent something. Not only that, it seems oriented toward life & harmony.

The whatever-it-is seems to naturally strive towards those things. If that’s true, what if you went along with its life-loving intelligence and stopped trying to force your own way?

Yes, this ‘let go and let god’ talk. God, to me, is a word for spirit, the universe, all that is, divine intelligence. I also think of it as silence or “______.” <- recognize this from our recipe?

How could you possibly be smarter than all that is? You, bless your pretty face, /think/ you know what things mean, where they came from, & where they’re going. You /think/ you know what needs to happen for something else to be. I could spend stories & stories on this, but all you need to know things aren’t always as they seem.

Simple example:

Two servers are squabbling at a restaurant…

Another server sees and says, “They’re fighting about a shift.” Their emotionally intelligent manager says, “They’re fighting because they’re under-slept and stressed personally.” A psychotherapist says, “They aren’t sleeping and are a mess because of their childhoods.” A healer says, “They have childhood issues because they’re breaking generational curses.” A metaphysician says, “They’re fighting and stressed because they’re thinking about fighting and being stressed.”

That’s all to say the level to “solve” it varies. It might not be what you first think it is. If you’ve tried to solve things in your life without success (stubborn patterns), then maybe it’s time to try another level. The ‘let go and let god’ or “______“ recipe.

By surrendering your own charming, desperate attempts at understanding and fixing, you make space for god/life/spirit to do its thing.

You look upon what’s not working & you don’t try to call it by name, fight it, fix it, or even think about it. You hang a big, neon-lit question mark over it & say, “I don’t know what this is. Or what it means. If it’s good. If it’s bad. I love it. Because. I am.” And you submit to let “_____” work.

While you’re letting “______” work, you’ll likely feel all types of ways. There’s room for emotions to come up.. finally. Sometimes really high emotions, sometimes really low ones. Let those be “______”ed, too. Don’t try to do anything with them except allow yourself to feel them.

It’ll take practice to coax your cool coping habits to sit down & be patient during this process. Especially because you probably have a lot of ideas of how things should be & should happen. That’s the problem anyhow, isn’t it? Still, this is the highest alignment practice I’ve found. You won’t be able to hide in the dark after this one, I’m not-sorry to say.

Pro tips:

  • Choose a phrase or image to loop or focus on to nudge out analysis & thought loops when they pop up (they will). I used “I love you shay” for a while. Or the sun.
  • Do your own experiment. Pick a stubborn pattern & do the “_____” recipe for 14 or so days. ***This does not mean you don’t take action, think through real things, or have conversations as necessary to tend to your life right now. It’s for background thinking and talking that isn’t doing anything for you.
